オープニングロール エピソード２：クローンの攻撃

こんにちは、管理人の本堂です。今回はオープニングクロール、エピソード２を取り上げたいと思います。

銀河元老院は不穏な空気に包まれていた。数千の恒星系が銀河共和国からの離脱する意向を表明したのだ。

ドゥークー伯爵に指揮された分離主義勢力によってジェダイ騎士が限りある人員の中で銀河の平和と秩序を維持するのは困難になっていた。

かつてのナブーの女王アミダラ元老院議員は銀河元老院へと向かっていた。今や劣勢となったジェダイを支援するために 共和国に軍隊を創設すべきか否かという重大な議案に一票を投じるために…

unrest・・・不安、不穏

Galactic Senate・・・銀河元老院

solar systems・・・太陽系、恒星系

declare・・・表明する、宣言する

intention・・・意向

separatist・・・分離主義者

Count・・・伯爵

maintain・・・維持する

order・・・秩序、命令、注文、順序

Senator・・・元老院議員、上院議員

former・・・かつての、前の

vote on・・・～について投票する

critical・・・重大な

issue・・・論点、問題点

overwhelmed・・・圧倒された、劣勢になった

solar systemsは太陽光発電かと思いましたが・・・・・スターウォーズ関係の資料を見るとどれも恒星系といった訳でした。文脈に合わせて解釈しないといけないんですね。

逆に分離主義者という単語はもとからあったんですね。スターウォーズオリジナルの単語かと思っていました。
